A creature gains a [[Will]] save to resist this spell.  On a successful save, the penalties are reduced by one step (such as going from blind, prone, and sickened to only being prone and sickened).  Creatures greater than your caster level who save negate the effects entirely.

Furthermore, if you are on your home plane when you cast this spell, nongood extraplanar creatures within the area are instantly [[SRD:Banishment|banished]] back to their home planes. Creatures so banished cannot return for at least 24 hours. This effect takes place regardless of whether the creatures hear the exalted word. The banishment effect allows a [[Will]] save (at a -4 penalty) to negate. 

This spell is intended as a replacement to the ''[[SRD:Holy Word|holy word]]'' spell, and counts as such.
