|benefit=Choose a spellcasting, manifesting, or similar class you possess that does not get 9th level spells or equivalent at the end of its progression, such as [[bard]] or [[assassin]] classes. You can continue to advance your spells per day beyond its maximum level. You gain +1 spell slot of any level you possess at every odd level beyond your maximum, and +1 spell slot and an additional +1 spell slot over your highest level, up to a maximum of 9th level spells. Your class is not likely to have actual spells of that level, but they may be filled with lower level spells or metamagic spells as appropriate.
|example=For example, an [[assassin]]'s spells cease at 4th level spells with 3-3-3-3 as their spells per day. If Bob the assassin proceeded to level in [[SRD:Arcane Trickster|arcane trickster]], every level he would advance his spellcasting not only gives him the normal +1 bonus to caster level, but he also gains +1 extra spell slot, which Bob chooses to put in his 4th level spells (for 3-3-3-4).  He takes another level, gains +1 caster level, +1 extra spell slot, and 5th level spells. Assassins do not know 5th level spells, but he can fill it with metamagic versions of the spells or just use it to cast normal spells. After he puts his bonus spell slot in 4th level spells again, his progression is now 3-3-3-5-1. He can continue to gain spell slots each level, though his spell level is capped at 9th. Well into epic levels, he'll probably take [[SRD:Improved Spell Capacity|Improved Spell Capacity]] to continue his growth.
