''As part of her final year project, Faith developed this spell, which taps into her abilities with conjuration magic and her love of spiders alike. It is rumoured that she avoided one of Nealan's final-year pranks by judicious use of this spell in her bedroom.''

This spell creates a gooey, adhesive web that covers a 20-foot radius circle designated by you. This area is visible to friends and enemies alike. At the middle of the circle (the spell’s point of origin), there is a hive which spawns a [[SRD:Small Monstrous Spider|Small monstrous spider]]. The spider serves until the end of the spell’s duration or until its death; in the latter case, a new spider replaces it from the hive at the beginning of the next round.

The first opponent that steps into the trap causes the rest of it to instantly converge on them, forcing them to succeed on a Reflex save or be trapped in a cocoon of webbing for the remainder of the spell’s duration, during which time the victim is immobilized and cannot move from its current location. A successful saving throw instead entangles the creature for 1 turn. 

Regardless of whether or not the saving throw is successful, however, activation of this part of the trap destroys the hive and kills the spider it has spawned, if any.
