Field Researcher [Archetype]

Special: If you ever stop qualifying for this feat, you can trade it for another archetype feat you meet the prerequisites.
Archetype Feat Bonuses are based on HD.
- 1 HD: You gain Skill Focus for Appraise, 1 Knowledge of your choice and Survival. All Knowledge skills become class skills for you for all your HD.
- 3 HD: You gain the Track feat. You gain a cumulative +2 bonus on any Survival or Knowledge check you attempt for each hour of research and examination you make before coming to a conclusion (to a maximum of +10 at 5 hours).
- 8 HD: When making a Survival or trained Knowledge check, you may take 2 minutes to "take 20", checking your notes and research to evaluate the situation before coming to a conclusion. Your ritualistic thoroughness lets you replicate the effects of detect magic (gaining the 3 rounds of benefits immediately) on a single object of study or a 20 foot area as an extraordinary ability.
- 15 HD: The DCs for any epic Appraise or Survival skills you attempt are halved (to a minimum of 40). Additionally, if you take 20 minutes instead to check your notes and research when making a Survival or trained Knowledge check, you may choose to replicate the effects of identify as an extraordinary ability 3 times per day.
