This creature has a tiny, stubby humanoid body with an oblong rock for a head. Two holes in the rock have the appearance of eyes.

Flintsparks are fey that are present in and around natural rock formations, be they cave systems, hills, or mountains. Seeing them is generally regarded as good luck, for it indicates that the rocks are healthy and strong. Some dwarves believe their presence indicates an abundance of valuable minerals nearby. Flintsparks are tied to ther area of earth like a dryad to her tree, and do not leave unless dire need arises. If the rock formation they call home is damaged or destroyed, the Flintsparks die.

Flintsparks are just over a foot in height, and when solid weigh about 5 pounds.

Flintsparks understand Sylvan, but do not speak. The only sound they produce is the sound of pebbles hitting rock, and will often make the sound as a warning to potential threats to their rocks.

Combat[edit]

Flintsparks avoid combat whenever possible, using their incorporeal forms to slip inside their rocks, or using their greater invisibility to hide from view. When cornered or when their rocks are threatened, Flintsparks attack en masse, and use their spark attack to try and drive off their enemies.

Spark (Su): As a standard action, a Flintspark can produce a hot spark anywhere within 30 feet of itself, as though pieces of flint were just struck together. The spark does 2 points of fire damage and ignites flammable material it touches. A DC 13 Reflex save halves the fire damage.

Greater Invisibility (Su): A Flintspark can remain invisible even when it attacks. It can suppress or resume it as a free action.

Materialize (Ex): At will, a Flintspark can become corporeal. It loses its fly speed when in solid form. It can suppress or resume it as a free action.

Rock Dependant (Su): Flintsparks are mystically bound to their rock formations, and cannot venture more than 300 yards away from them. If forced further from their rocks, they usually die in less than an hour.
