Forceplate armor and shields shimmers and seems translucent, as if it were made of glass.  The material becomes part force effect similar to bracers of armor. [[Summary::Your armor or shield improved max dexterity by +5, decreases armor check penalty by 5, and has no weight.]]  If it is a tower shield, it loses the -2 penalty to attack rolls.  Forceplate armor counts as both its original type of armor and as non-armor whenever beneficial, allowing classes such as the [[monk]] for benefit from its effects as long as they are proficient in the original armor's type.
