Gemstone Array

This is a small box set with 17 large gemstones, which are clear when uncharged, but constantly shift between red, green, blue, white, and black while charged. The box cannot be opened without destroying it; within one the viewer will find a complicated system of arcane gears.

For every 10 points of mana put into the Gemstone Array, one of the gemstones will become charged. Putting mana into the Gemstone Array is a standard action.

The wielder can extract the charge from one of the gemstones as a standard action, producing one point of mana of any color. If the wielder is currently holding the array, extracting the charge from a gemstone can be done as an immediate action instead.

The Gemstone Array weighs 6 pounds and is 8" × 8" × 4".

Strong evocation; CL 11th; Craft Wondrous Item, contingency; Price 30,000 gp.
