Half-Orbog

Born from humans and orbogs, this subrace of half-orcs is composed by harsh and arcane-oriented people.

Personality

As they are always ostracized and share the ambitious personality of humans and the reservedness of orbogs, they are often angered and quite peevish, reacting with unbound violence or stubborn silence when provoked. They think quite high of themselves and often strive for prevailing.

They are nervous and rude, and this behavior doesn't help with the impression others have of them. They are resourceful and like to be always prepared for any situation.

Physical Description

They share with orbogs the pale complexion, red or green eyes, sickly appearance and pointy teeth. Other physical features are more similar to humans, being varied and very different from one another.

Relations

Orbogs do not differentiate half-orbogs from themselves, while humans and other races treat them as any other half-orcs.

Alignment

Though they have tendencies for chaos, they are often neutral evil or neutral, not much caring for morals.

Lands

They live in the same places as orbogs, or near them, often in small human communities.

Religion

As orbogs, they often revere Yurtrus and other orc deities, instead of human ones, but most of them are atheists, caring more for arcane arts than divine power.

Language

They know Orc and Common, and acute individuals may learn Abyssal, Infernal or Draconic, as they dabble with oscure and eldritch magic.

Names

Half-orbogs have mostly human names with a title that refer to their orc nature, such as Blackwater or Pearhead

Racial Traits

  • +2 Constitution, -2 Dexterity: Half-orbogs are thick-skinned, but slow, though not as much as pure orbogs.
  • Humanoid (Orc) 
  • Medium: As a Medium creature, a half-orbog has no special bonuses or penalties due to its size.
  • Half-Orbog base land speed is 30 feet.  
  • Darkvision: A half-orbog can see in the dark up to 60 feet. Darkvision is black and white only, but it is otherwise like normal sight, and a half-orbog can function just fine with no light at all. 
  • Flesh of the Marsh (Su): At 10 HD an half-orbog gains acid resistance 5. It stacks with any resistance of the same type from class features, feats or templates. 
  • Swamp Arcana (Sp): Once per day an half-orbog can replicate the spell acid bomb as a spell-like ability with caster level equal to its HD. 
  • Toxic Resistance (Ex): +4 bonus against disease, poison and any effect that involves foul odors, such as cloudkill
  • Yurtrus' Blessing (Su): +1 to caster level and DC for spells and spell-like abilities that involve diseases, poisons or foul odors. 
  • +2 bonus to Escape Artist and Swim checks. Their skin is somewhat slimy and they are good at swimming.
  • Automatic Languages: Common, Orc
  • Bonus Languages: Abyssal, Aquan, Draconic, Goblin, Infernal
  • Favored Class: Sorcerer or Warlock In The Dungeon
  • Level Adjustment: +0
  • Effective Character Level: 1

Simple Racial Traits

These are racial traits for use with the simplified races rules.

  • Humanoid (Orc)
  • Medium
  • Base land speed of 20 feet.
  • Combat Ability - Yurtru's Blessing: Once per minute, it may produce a foul odor that lasts 5 rounds and force a Fortitude save (DC is 10 + 1/2 HD + Con modifier) to anyone within 10 feet. If it fails it's Sickened as long as it stays in the area and one round later. A natural one means the target is Nauseated instead for one round, Sickenedfor the rest. The area increases by 5 feet at every 5 HD, up to 30 feet.
  • Passive Ability - Marsh Flesh: Gain Acid Resistance equal to HD + Con modifier.
  • Utility Ability - Stinking Cover: Become untrackable by smell in foul smelling areas.
