This armor looks exactly like clothing with a special, complex pattern underneath. While it offers very minimal protection with few inconveniences of typical armor, it offers one particular advantage. The complex innovative patterns become much more effective when made of atypical material, when made of [[Dilatantoplastic (3.5e Equipment)|dilatantoplastic]], [[Dordweave (3.5e Equipment)|dordweave]], [[Drowsilk (3.5e Equipment)|drowsilk]] or [[Kevlarium (3.5e Equipment)|kevlarium]]. When made of such material it counts as medium armor for the purpose of receiving bonuses from material (but not penalties).

A hard vest made of [[Gossamer (3.5e Equipment)|Colluxe Gossamer]], [[Dilatantoplastic (3.5e Equipment)|dilatantoplastic]] or [[Drowsilk (3.5e Equipment)|drowsilk]] counts as non-armor for the purpose of interacting with feats, class abilities and similar, allowing [[SRD:Monk|monk]] to wear it without penalties.

Additionally the armor is removed extremely easily since it's effectively clothing.</onlyinclude>
