Traditionally worn by the citizen soldiers of the Theramore Peninsula, this armor maintains a large amount of mobility while being highly effective infantry protection.

The best hoplite armor consists of a lightweight bronze over leather breast-and-back, bracers, reinforced leather tassets and sandals. Other varieties use bronze scales to achieve the same protective effect with similar mobility. More fanciful versions like this one likely belonged to the leaders of a phalanx. The hoplite armor is always [[SRD:Masterwork|masterwork]]; price and benefits are subsumed in the above statistics.

The hoplite armor grants the following benefits when worn, on top of its general protective capabilities: 

*You gain a +2 bonus to all [[SRD:Constitution|Constitution]]-based checks, and all [[SRD:Nonlethal Damage|nonlethal damage]] taken by performing physically strenuous activities like marching, hustling or running past the usual limit is reduced by 2 points.
*Against [[SRD:Piercing Weapon|piercing]] attacks of any kind, the hoplite armor's AC bonus counts as 2 higher.
*You count as having level 1 heat protection or your existing level of heat protection increases by +1 (see ''Protection against Heat'', [[Publication:Sandstorm|Sandstorm]] pg. 14).
