Hunter's Quarry
This is an alternate feature for the Ranger class. Characters who select this alternate benefit lose access to Favored Enemy. :None
Hunter's Quarry
You can channel your reserve of magical power to enhance your strikes by focusing upon particular enemies. As a bonus action, you may choose a creature that you can see within 90 feet; weapon attacks you make against that creature deal 1d6 additional damage until the start of your next turn, though you may use this ability without spending a bonus action to maintain your mark on a given creature. You may mark no more than one creature at a time in this way. You can use this bonus action a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain expended uses when you finish a long rest.
You may activate this ability without expending a use by instead expending a spell slot, in which case the effect of this ability lasts for a number of rounds equal to the spell's level, and you may spend a bonus action to change your focus to a different creature, moving your mark to them while the effect is still active. The maximum level spell slot that may be expended on this ability is equal to the highest-level spell you know granted by the ranger.
