The dagger sailed away into the stratosphere with a thunderous boom. A short time later Bob, all the way on the other side of the planet, got stabbed.

This +1 teleporting dagger has no maximum range increment and a range increment of 50 ft. Beyond being a good ranged weapon it has a special function where you make a single thrown attack as a standard action. The dagger flies away at exponentially increasing speeds aimed anywhere in the same plane as you as long as you know the location you are attacking in search for a specific creature you have in mind. As long as said creature is within an area with a radius of its range increment (50 ft normally) you may make an attack roll against them at no penalty as if you had thrown the weapon normally.

The attack fails if line of effect is broken, and you have to roll miss chance as normal for any cover or concealment as if you were there within 10 ft of your target. You are also treated as being within 10 ft for any other purpose such as sneak attack. Once an attack is made it teleports back in your hand as normal. If the attack fails, such as the target not being present or missing, you know it failed but not why it failed.

In spite of traveling at hypersonic velocities in the air, it returns to normal speeds for the attack and deals no more damage than normal. In the off-chance your target is being flanked at the time of your attack, the dagger will naturally strike at an angle to benefit from the flank.
