The spell goes off when you fire it in whatever way would be the most awesome. Single-target spells simply affect anyone shot by the arrow. Imbue Arrow [Spellcasting] Benefit: When you cast a spell or use a spell-like ability, you may elect to imbue it into an arrow instead of its normal effect. The spell imbues one arrow or bolt for every attack provided by Base Attack Bonus that you have. It stays imbued for up to 1 round/level.
