Industrial Plate

This suit of armor cover most of the body, much like a full plate armor. Industrial plate is heavier and less mobile, lacking as many joints and having thicker metal armor. It is the result of attempting to mass produce full-plate armor through industrial means, creating one-size fit all armor plates which are then assembled.

It is made from heavy armored plates which are very thick and heavy, usually fairly rectangular in shape, reminiscent of those used for powered armor. The result is a protective armor which does not need to be fitted, but is much heavier and burdensome than a custom-fitted full plate armor. The armor's interior is easily adjustable, allowing just about any user to wear it.

  1. If the character has some help, cut this time in half. A single character doing nothing else can help one or two adjacent characters. Two characters can't help each other don armor at the same time.
  2. The wearer must have help to don this armor. Without help, it can be donned only hastily.

Industrial Plate is effectively a more burdensome full plate armor. However unlike full plate armor, industrial plate does not need to be fitted for its wear, nor does it require help to don it. A character can take Exotic Armor Proficiency with the Industrial Plate, increasing the AC Bonus and Max Dexterity by 1 and reducing the ACP by 2.

Pathfinder: In pathfinder, Industrial Plate has an Armor Bonus of +9.
