A creature with this [[SRD:Special Abilities Overview#Supernatural|supernatural ability]] can detect the life force present in a living target, including its condition. The creature can tell whether a living creature within the range of its lifesight is healthy, injured, wounded, near death, [[SRD:Dying|dying]], or [[SRD:Dead|dead]] (see Table), as well as whether it is [[SRD:Disease|diseased]] or [[SRD:Poison|poisoned]]. Invisibility, [[SRD:Darkness|darkness]], and most kinds of [[SRD:Concealment|concealment]] are irrelevant, though the creature must have line of effect to a creature to discern that creature. The ability's range is specified in the creature's descriptive text. Lifesight allows the user to pinpoint unliving creatures, as per the ''[[SRD:Detect Undead|detect undead]]'' spell.
