Eventide merely touched the guard and he feel the ground, withered and dead.
The touched creature take 1d8 damage per caster level (to a maximum of 10d8) and become Dazed for 1 round, a successful save halves the damage and negate the dazing. If a creature is slain by this spell it is left a shriveled corpse unsuitable for raise dead.
