Components: V, S
Casting time: Varies (see text)
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Target or Area: One creature, effect or object within range, or all creatures, effects and objects within an area (see text)
Duration: Instantaneous or Varies (see text)
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

To a master spatialist, the shortest distance between any two points is rarely non-zero.

When casting this spell, you designate one creature or object within range and displace it to a new location in range. The intended location must be large and open enough to fit the target of the displacement, or the spell immediately fails. If you use this spell to displace yourself and your attended equipment, the range of this spell counts as double. Unwilling targets are allowed a Will saving throw to avoid being displaced. The usual casting time for this spell is 1 standard action.

This spell's effects can be further enhanced by casting it at a higher spell level, as follows:

  • Effect Displacement (1 additional spell level): Instead of a creature or object, you may designate the area of an ongoing spell effect to displace instead. The effect must be that of a non-instantaneous spell, and it must be a singular effect, such as a wall of fire or a solid fog spell. The entire area of effect must be contained within the range of the spatial displacement.
  • Immediate Displacement (2 additional spell levels): You can cast the spell as an immediate action in or out of turn. This option can be used for many purposes, such as to remove yourself from a dangerous position before you get hit by a powerful attack, displace an incoming projectile, or make someone else's fireball spell go off in a location of your choosing.
  • Area Displacement (3 additional spell levels): You designate up to 1 10-foot square within Medium range per caster level or a sphere with a radius of 10 feet plus 5 feet per 2 caster levels centered upon yourself. After completing the 1-round casting time, every creature, unattended object, and ongoing effect within the designated areas is displaced to a location within range. Any sufficiently solid material interrupts the area, disallowing the displacement of landscape or architecture unless an entire landmark is contained within the area of the spell.
  • Long Range Displacement (4 additional spell levels): Increase the range of the spell to 1 mile/caster level. This spell never teleports you off target.
