In the distance what looks to be a star falling from heaven appears. As it draws near the air heats up and you feel gravity lose its hold to a superior force which drags all around it into a swirling maelstrom of fire and light. Cloaked in a mandala of nuclear flame, a black bodied construct floats in waiting.

In the depths of space neutronium golems wait, silent, invisible, and deadly to all that passes near it. Created by gods and other cosmic beings beyond mortal kin, neutronium golems are crafted from the crushed essence of dead stars. Unstoppable war machines, they are employed only in times of great strife as their mere presence to matter causes a blazing maelstrom of power as the atmosphere ignites around it as air is compressed to the point of fusion. It is this sheathe of fusion which makes neutronium golems appear as burning stars, but when at rest in the depths of space their true shape is visible. They have rotund spherical bodies with small stubby legs and arms which often lay wrapped around its body, with no head to speak of and a body blacker than black. An eye on the front and one on the back remains closed on its body, opening only to release its X-ray attack.

A neutronium golem’s natural weapons are treated as epic for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. It is 30 feet high and weighs 800,000 billion tons.

Combat[edit]

A neutronium golem is straight forward in combat, attacking the biggest threat to its survival in the room or the closest person barring that. Typically they are under direct orders which take priority, though as golems they can be awfully literal minded.

Aura of Fusion (Ex): A neutronium golem's sheer mass causes the air around in to fuse, wrapping it in a blazing coat of nuclear fire. As a gaze attack all those in 60 feet must make a DC 30 Will save or become permanently blind. Those within 30 feet are struck by intense heat, taking 20d6 fire damage each round with a Reflex save for half. Those within 5 feet take the same damage, but the fires are nuclear fire which ignores fire resistance and immunity. The aura of fusion occurs automatically in any medium, but does not form in the vacuum of space. The save DC is Constitution based with a +8 racial bonus.

Death Throes (Ex): A neutronium golem releases fantastic amounts of energy on its death, reproducing the effects of megaton immediately on destruction, DC 30 Fortitude partial. The save DC is Constitution based with a +8 racial bonus.

Density (Ex): A neutronium golem is fantastically dense, allowing it to be treated up to two times larger than its actual size when beneficial.

Graviton (Su): A neutronium golem can affect the flow of gravity as a free action once a round to either pull creatures closer, push them away, or crush their bodies into paste. The DC for each of these abilities is 30 and the save DC is Constitution based with a +8 racial bonus. Select from the following:

  • Pull: All creatures within 60 feet must make a Will save or be dragged towards the golem 30 feet, or 15 feet on a successful save.
  • Push: All creatures within 60 feet must make a Will save or be pushed away from the golem 30 feet, or 15 feet on a successful save.
  • Crush: One creature within 60 feet is crushed and slain as per the implosion spell. This effect counts as the implosion spell for spells and effects which counter it.

Gravity Body (Ex): A neutronium golem is so heavy that making contact with it is tremendously dangerous. Any weapon or natural attack which strikes the golem must make a DC 25 Strength check in order to pull their weapon away. Failure to pull away results in the weapon becoming stuck, and the weapon takes 10d6 damage each round it remains stuck (though hardness does apply). If the weapon is a natural weapon the creature takes the damage instead.

Greater Extraordinary Health (Ex): Unnaturally tough, a neutronium golem uses d20s as its hit dice. A neutronium golem always recieves maximum hit points per hit die.

Higgs Sight (Su): A neutronium golem can sense the presence of mass around it, effectively giving it blindsight out to 500 feet. Only incorporeal or ethereal creatures do not register with higgs sight.

Immunity to Magic (Ex): A neutronium golem is immune to all magical and supernatural effects.

Unfathomable Force (Ex): A neutronium golem demolishes force effect such as wall of force or forcecage simply my walking into it. It doesn't even phaze them or slow their passage.

Unkillable (Ex): A neutronium golem is difficult to put down. If defeated, a neutronium golem is rendered inert but its fast healing continues to function until the golem is above 0 hp. No amount of damage can permenantly kill a neutronium golem. They can only be permenantly killed by wishing it dead with a wish or miracle spell once they have been rendered inert.

Unmoveable (Ex): No force can move a neutronium golem. It cannot be tripped, bull rushed, or otherwise moved from its position unless the attacker succeeds on a DC 57 Strength check. The DC is Strength-based with a +16 bonus due to size.

Unstoppable (Ex): A neutronium golem automatically makes any Strength checks to bust through a barrier of DC 28 or lower. It does not need to take an action to break the barrier, it simply walks through it at half speed. Often rather than destroy a castle with its fists it simply forces itself through by walking.

Warp (Ex): A neutronium golem can travel across the galaxy at luminal speeds, up to the speed of light. As a full-round action it enters warp. It cannot make any attacks in this state, but its movement speed rises to the speed of light. It does not interact with the world in this state, allowing it to pass through solid matter though it leaves tremors in its wake. It can leave warp as a full-round action.

X-Ray (Ex): A neutronium golem can focus the terrible energies contained around it into a fantastic blast of radiation. As a standard action once every 1d4 rounds, it can open its eyes and release a line of light 15 feet wide and 15,000 feet long both in front and behind it. All creatures in it must make a Fortitude save or take 40d6 points of damage and 4d6 negative levels, DC 30 save for half. It cannot use this ability if its aura of fusion is not active. The save DC is Constitution based with a +8 racial bonus.

Construction[edit]

An neutronium golem’s body is sculpted from a stellar body approimately the same mass as Mars which must be compressed into neutronium using custom epic spells. The golem costs 62,500,000 gold pieces to create, which includes 500,000 gp for the body. Assembling the body requires a successful Craft (earthwork) or Craft (metalwork) check (DC 250). The creator must be 35th level, have the Craft Epic Magic Arms and Armor feat, divine rank 0 or higher, and be able to cast spells. Completing the ritual drains 2,480,000 XP from the creator and requires geas/quest, implosion, and wish.
