Nova
Evocation [Light]
Level: Sorcerer/Wizard 10
Components: V, S, F
Casting time: 1 full round action
Range: Personal
Effect or Area: Long range emanation of blinding light
Duration: 1 rnd/level (D)
Saving Throw: Reflex half, Fortitude partial; see text
Spell Resistance: No

The caster gathers their power into a starstone and begins to glow ever brighter until they match the power of the sun.

The caster shines with a light that illuminates the area as though it was bright daylight. Undead creatures negatively affected by daylight take 2d10 damage per caster level (no save) and are treated as though they were in daylight.

Each round the caster may as a swift action direct a focused beam of light at a target within the emanation. The light beam deals the target 2d6 light damage per caster level. The target may make a Reflex save for half damage.

A creature looking directly at the caster or that is adjacent to the caster is blinded as long as it continues to look or remains adjacent plus an additional 1d4 rounds thereafter. A creature that averts its eyes (as avoiding a gaze attack). A blinded creature may attempt a Fortitude save to suppress the blinding effect for 1 round.

Nova counters or dispels any darkness spell.

Focus: A Starstone worth at least 1,000 gp.
