Some sacred warriors swear an oath to protect knowledge, especially that of magic - To unearth secrets to share with those who cannot otherwise defend themselves, to keep knowledge from being lost to history, and to tear down those that would misuse their power and warp information to their own ends. Those that swear this arcane oath are sometimes called spell knights or swordmages, and though they are rare, you'll know when you've crossed swords with one.

Tenets of Arcanum
Though the exact words and strictures of the Oath of Arcanum vary, paladins of this oath share these tenets.
Feed the mind. Teach others what you can, wherever you go, and forget not to teach yourself as well.
Exhume the truth. Stop at nothing to save information from being broken by crooked tongues and the weight of ages; Words today are actions tomorrow.
Express your story. To know thyself is to know your enemy; Save your own truth from being twisted, the same as you would any other.
