An Oni Iron Kanabō is a +1 [[SRD:Unholy|unholy]] [[Gigas Mace (3.5e Equipment)|gigas mace]], the weapon is much longer than typical and thus can be used as a reach weapon and unlike a normal reach weapon you still threaten adjacent target. The demonic energy within the weapon is not easily tamed, only [[Youkai Oni (3.5e Race)|youkai oni]], [[Demon Samurai (3.5e Prestige Class)|demon samurai]] and outsiders with the evil subtype can wield the weapon safely. Any other creature that attempt to wield the weapon automatically fall under the effect of [[Possessed Hand (3.5e Spell)|''possessed hand'']] with no saving throw, this effect last for as long as the creature is holding the Oni Iron Kanabō.

If placed within a pool of [[SRD:Holy Water|holy water]] and blessed by a shrine maiden, the Oni Iron Kanabō become a +1 [[SRD:Holy|holy]] [[Gigas Mace (3.5e Equipment)|gigas mace]]. These are often refereed as ''Purified Iron Kanabō'' and can be used by anyone without risk, you still need [[Gigas Mace (3.5e Equipment)|gigas mace]] proficiency to use it properly. The purification ritual must be repeated every year, if not the weapon return to normal.  

Prerequisites: [[SRD:Craft Magic Arms and Armor|Craft Magic Arms and Armor]], [[SRD:Unholy Blight|''unholy blight'']], crafter must be a [[Youkai Oni (3.5e Race)|youkai oni]], [[Demon Samurai (3.5e Prestige Class)|demon samurai]] or an outsider with the evil subtype.<br />
