Communicate with your companions thanks to high frequency sounds and weak telepathy

In the deep of deserts lives a special kind of predators, the sand huntersSand. These dog-like magical beasts have spotted fur, flexible necks and are excellent pack hunters thanks to their pack mind ability, which allows them to coordinate attacks and act very insightfully while hunting. Desert-dwelling grafters have discovered that their mind pack ability comes from the special interaction between their brains, vocal cords and an organ called the pack sensor. By harvesting this organ and grafting it into other creatures, they gain a similar ability to the mind pack power of sand hunters. The pack sensor is grafted internally, under the ear, with a complex operation (Heal DC 20).

A creature with the pack sensor grafted may connect telepathically to other creatures with an Intelligence score (minimum one creature, up to your highest mental ability modifier). This is a standard action which doesn't provoke attacks of opportunity. In stressful situations it requires a Concentration check with DC 15 (or depending on the situation). The connection lasts until you or the target(s) fall unconscious or sleep (so it must be renewed each day). The connection allows the users to communicate telepathically within 50 feet (15 meters) and all those connected hear the message. This connection does not remove language barriers nor it allows a less intelligent creature to understand better. Any barrier that removes line of effect blocks the communication, but does not remove the connection (so darkness doesn't affect the communication but a wall blocks it). The link does not work beyond the range, but it's not lost otherwise. Creatures in the link are immediately aware if the link is cut. If multiple creatures have the graft (or similar abilities such as sand hunter themselves) they can connect as a swift action and do not count against their maximum limit.

Characters with abilities similar to a familiar's empathic link can connect and communicate within the highest of the two ranges and using the most convenient conditions (such as regarding line of effect).

No abilities can be used through the link (unless otherwise stated) as it only works for communications, though creatures with the graft suffer a -2 against enchantment effects that affects the mind directly and any effect that works by telepathy.

This graft does not work in a silenced zone, as it relies onto high frequency sounds.
