In combat against a single creature, a Periplanean Preacher attempt to subdue it foe as quickly as possible.  Usually pouncing them, grabbing them and tearing them apart. If the foe is tricky it will use it spell-like abilities and dark speech to disable it, then pounce it. If it fight a group, unless it clearly and severely overpower them, it will attempt to flee at the earliest convenience. If Periplanean Preachers fight in group they act much more aggressively, each attempting to grab a bite before the other. They are after all creatures of the abyss and their speech about solidarity and unity quickly crumble in the face of a meal.
