|benefit=You can extend the duration of a spell from the [[SRD:Summoning Subschool|Summoning]] subschool by casting it as a higher level summoning spell of the same type. Using a summoning spell 1 level higher gives the spell a duration of 1 minute/level, 2 levels higher makes it 1 hour/level, and 3 levels higher makes the duration permanent until all summoned creatures are dismissed or killed. Any creature summoned with the use of this feat gains a +5 bonus to its [[SRD:Dispel Magic|dispel]] DC, and an active [[SRD:Spell Resistance|spell resistance]] of 10 + your [[SRD:Caster Level|caster level]] + the additional spell levels added on casting, against any effects meant to dismiss it or otherwise return it to its home plane. This feat is not a metamagic feat, and may be applied to any prepared or spontaneously cast summoning spell, but only one persistent summoning spell may be active at any time.
