Pixels can be bound as familiars.  It gives no extra bonus, though its spell-like abilities prove useful.

Pixel Swarms can be taken as an [[SRD:Improved Familiar|Improved Familiar]] at 7th.  However, they can be struck by physical attacks as if they were Tiny (taking 1/2 damage).  If reduced to 0 hp, it transforms into a 1 hp normal Pixel.  If it survives, it returns to swarm status after 24 hours.
