Pixittes are tiny, winged sprites. They're often found wearing ragged clothing, and will gladly accept gifts (especially gifts of elegant fineries). Depending on the token awarded to them, they may lead or direct travelers or attempt to give a gift or service in exchange. A particularly destitute or mistreated pixitte may resort to stealing. They are occasionally found with animals they employ as mounts. In rural areas near wild areas, they can occasionally be heard singing and merrymaking by locals. Most prefer to sing, but some can be found with mundane instruments sized for them.

A pixitte stands about 1 foot tall and weighs about 4 pounds. Its fine hair is often left to grow long. Delicate, insectile wings stick from its back. They are known to live for centuries and prefer to hide rather than to draw attention to themselves.

Pixittes speak Sylvan and Common, and may know other regional languages as well.

Combat

Pixittes are ill suited for combat and prefer to flee, usually first attempting to placate foes with praise or misdirection before fleeing.

White-Tongued Remarks (Su): Once per day as a free free action, a pixitte can gain a +10 on its Bluff checks for a minute (as if by the effect of glibness).

Skills: Pixittes have a +2 racial bonus on Listen, Search, and Spot checks. They gain a +4 racial bonus on Escape Artist checks.

Familiar

Pixittes are nurtured by magical energies and can form links with spellcasters. In time, they too grow in power.

Pixittes can be used as familiars for spellcasters with the Improved Familiar feat and at least arcane spellcaster level 3rd.

A pixitte with at least a 5th arcane spellcaster level master has 2 HD, gains Improved Evasion as a rogue, and can make Knowledge skill checks untrained.

A pixitte with at least a 7th arcane spellcaster level master has 3 HD (gaining Improved Initiative as its feat for 3rd level) and gains the following abilities:

Healing Link (Su): Once per day, a pixitte can heal itself and its master for 1d6+1 hit points per 2 of its master's arcane spellcasting levels. The pixitte need only be adjacent to its master for the master to be healed when the pixitte activates this ability.

Focused Magic (Su): When the pixitte is strong enough, its master must choose a school of magic. When casting spells of that school, the master gains a +1 caster level bonus.
