Plane Tearing Strike [Fighter] The shortest distance between two points is the arc of my sword swing.Prerequisites: Base attack bonus +13Benefit: As an attack action with a melee weapon, you can open a portal to another location in an unoccupied space within your weapon's reach. The portal in the space is sized for a creature up to 1 size larger than the initiator and acts as a doorway for any creature who enters it, willing or otherwise, transporting them to the destination on the other side. Similarly, creatures on the other side can use the portal to come through to the opener's side. The destination location may be on the same plane or another plane entirely. Precise targeting is impossible, however, and the portal opens randomly within 5d20 feet of the intended destination. You must have previously visited the destination or have researched it reasonably well in order to use a plane tearing strike to travel to it, otherwise the ability fails and is wasted.

As part of the action to open a portal with this strike, you may make an attack roll. The portal from a plane tearing strike normally lasts for 1 full round, closing at the end of the initiator's next turn. If the initiator enters the portal's space on their next turn and spends a standard action, they may keep it open for additional rounds. They may hold it open beyond it's normal duration for a total of 1 round per 10 points of their attack roll, but they may not leave the portal's space and must spend a standard action each round. While held open in this fashion, the portal is considered difficult terrain for any creature attempting to pass through it. When the initiator is no longer able to hold it open, or chooses to stop, they may exit on either side of the portal. It closes immediately after they choose to stop holding it open in this manner.

You may make a plane tearing strike no more than once per hour. Example: Marduk, slayer of Tiamat, swings his sword to open a portal back to the prime material plane. His attack roll is a mediocre 33. The portal remains open for 1 round without any additional work on his part, and he may hold it open for an additional 3 rounds if he is willing to spend actions on doing so.
