A character can extract the poison of a dart frog with a successful DC 14 [[SRD:Survival Skill|Survival]] check. On a successful check, the character extracts a single dose worth of the poison. On a failed check, the poison is ruined but the character suffers no ill effects unless they roll a natural 1, in which case they are [[SRD:Poisons#Perils of Using Poison|exposed]] to the poison while attempting to extract it. A poison dart frog can supply only a single dose of poison per week.

Dart frog poison is less deadly when extracted, dealing an [[SRD:Poisons#Initial Damage|initial]] and [[SRD:Poisons#Secondary Damage|secondary]] damage of 1d4 [[SRD:Constitution|Constitution]] damage, with a DC 12 [[SRD:Saving Throw#Fortitude|Fortitude]] save to resist the effects.
