Pontiff's Robe

The highest-ranked clergymen of a great many religions employ decorated robes that boldly display their faith, though they are generally not displayed in battle. These robes are generally awarded to the head of a clergy, or sometimes to chosen faithful on an important mission from God.

If the character has some help, cut this time in half. A single character doing nothing else can help one or two adjacent characters. Two characters can't help each other don armor at the same time.

These fine, sometimes exorbitant robes are fashioned from the finest of silks and often hemmed with golden or silvered decorations. Color schemes can vary, though are usually constrained to those colors that the religion in question considers as holy. As such, the clergies of many good deities might go for white, gold or blue, while the religions of less well-intentioned Gods may employ red or black varieties of clothing. Regardless of its origins, pontiffs and those religious agents that are similarly highly valued require the finest of protections, and as such these robes are sublimely padded and protective. A pontiff's robe is always masterwork; price and benefits are subsumed in the above statistics.

The pontiff's armor provides the following benefits when worn, on top of its general protective capabilities:

• The pontiff's robe counts as a masterwork skill tool for the following skills: Bluff, Diplomacy, Heal and Spellcraft.
• If you worship the deity whose symbol is emblazoned on the chest of the armor, you gain the effects of protection from alignment against the deity's opposed alignment. If the deity has both an extreme moral and ethical alignment, the effect wards against the alignment opposing the deity's moral alignment. A weakened version of this effect radiates out to any allies within 30 feet of you that also worship the same deity, granting them a +1 deflection bonus to AC and +1 resistance bonus to saves against attacks made or effects created by creatures of the warded alignment.
• If you possess a divine spellcasting class, your casting-relevant ability score counts as 4 higher for the purpose of determining the number of spell slots or spells prepared.
