Ravenous Blood Idol

This grotesquely depraved shamanistic magic item is a small, glowing heart surrounded by an open ribcage set in the centre of a large, disk-shaped pendant. It seems to beat and throb with unholy fervour whenever blood is drawn.

The ravenous blood idol is the most powerful variant of blood idol and functions identically, except both the benefit and the drawback are greater still. While the ravenous blood idol's curse is active, you have 3 less hit points per HD, but as long as the idol is worn around the neck you regain 5 hit points every time you draw blood from a living creature. You cannot regain more hit points than you deal damage, so if you do less than 5 damage you regain hit points equal to the damage dealt instead.

While the idol is worn, you gain the benefits of the Vita-Retention feat even if you don't meet the prerequisites.

  • Blood Buff: At a cost of 1 blood charge as a free action, you greatly excite the blood within your own body, granting you a +4 bonus to Strength and Dexterity and rendering you hasted. These effects last until the start of your next turn.
  • Blood Heal: At a cost of 1 blood charge per round, you gain fast healing 10. Turning this ability on or off is a free action.
  • Blood Drain: At a cost of 5 blood charges, you make a touch attack as part of a standard action that sinks your fingers into the target, directly drawing its blood and vital force into your body. This functions as a greater vampiric touch effect that deals 15d8 points of damage.
  • Bloodstrike: At the cost of 1 blood charge, you fire a bolt of coagulated blood from the idol's heart that deals 4d6 points of magical piercing damage as an attack action. The bloodstrike is a ranged touch attack with a range of 30 feet, and inflicts 2 points of bleed if the target takes at least 1 point of damage from it. If the target suffers bleedout as a result of a bloodstrike attack, you instantly recover 2 blood charges. One or more bloodstrikes can be used as part of a full attack.

Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, bestow curse, bull's strength, cat's grace,haste, greater vampiric touch.
Cost to Create: 50,000 gp, 4,000 EXP, 100 days.
