Strategies and Tactics[edit]

Riding Ducks tend to serve as steeds, and thus they do little beyond what their rider wants them to. Particularly devoted Riding Ducks will act on their own to assist their masters.

Sample Encounters[edit]

Five Riding Ducks ridden by Troglodytes ambush you and beat you up with quick hit and run attacks.

Ecology[edit]

Environment: Riding Ducks tend to live in the desert, although they have also been found in jungles.

Typical Physical Characteristics: Riding Ducks are about 5 feet tall and weigh something like 200 pounds. Their feathers are generally in a range of yellow, brown, or green, with some black feathers as well.

Alignment: Riding Ducks are normally Neutral, but they aren't always Neutral; they're not composed out of the essence of Neutrality or anything.

Society[edit]

In the wild, Riding Ducks are a nomadic type of herbivore. When not in the wild, Riding Ducks are a type of steed, and act as is appropriate for one.

Typical Treasure[edit]

Riding Ducks often are equipped with some handy items by their owners.

For Player Characters[edit]

A Riding Duck usually costs about 2000 gp.

Creatures As Characters[edit]

Use Challenge Rating, not Hit Dice, for determining ECL, otherwise the Riding Duck doesn't make a very powerful character.

Creatures With Class Levels[edit]

It's not unheard of for Riding Ducks to have class levels in Barbarian, Monk, or Scout.
