Ring of the Forlorn

A dark iron ring, made for a young exile who would never see home again. It represses painful memories and grant the new forlorn a friend to accompany them into their lonely journey.

Once it is donned, the ring of the forlorn prevents the wearer from remembering any memories, faces, places or names from before the ring was donned. The ring also grant a personality to a single inanimate object, such as a doll, a toy or a book. The wearer is capable of conversing with her new 'companion' and it retain a clear memory and maintain friendship with the wearer.

The chosen object act as a Tiny Animated Object 1st level Familiars with an hardness 3, an Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma of 10, although it can only move or act when not directly observed by any creature that is not the wearer. If lost or destroyed while the ring is worn, it returns to your side 24 hours later when you next rest.

The ring is cursed and can only be removed after a remove curse is cast upon it, and the owner willingly remove it. The owners are rarely willing, knowing painful memories will come back and they will lose their friend. Once the ring is removed, the inanimate object crumbles into dust.
