Schism of the Helix
Transmutation [Death]
Level: Cleric 8, Druid 8, Family 8, Sorcerer/Wizard 8
Components: V, S
Casting time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Area: 20-ft. radius cube around point of origin
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Fortitude partial
Spell Resistance: No

After casting this spell, the caster declares a creature type that is made up of living creatures (any but undead or constructs). All creatures of that creature type within the affected area (including the caster, if necessary, but up to a maximum of one creature per caster level) must make a Fortitude save or die as their bodies are attacked at a cellular level. If a target saves successfully, they instead take 1d6 points of damage per caster level. So great is the cellular damage that those slain by this spell (either by the death effect or by damage) cannot be animated as undead unless the caster wishes.
