Sonar [General] Prerequisites: Listen 5 ranksBenefit: You gain a special version of Scent called Sonar. It functions out to a range of 5 feet plus 5 feet per 2 ranks you have in Listen. Sonar is based on hearing and thus is negated by the Deafened condition and fails to detect silenced creatures, objects, and areas. You automatically make a listen check each round and can always take 10 on listen checks. Sonar can be defeated by the Move Silently skill, although you receive a +5 bonus on the Listen check.

You also take a -2 penalty on saves vs. effects with the [Sonic] descriptor and take +1 damage per die from sources of sonic damage. Special: If you have a racial bonus on listen checks, the range of your Sonar increases by 5 feet per point of racial bonus.

The Superhearing feat's bonus to listen checks counts as and stacks with racial bonuses to listen for the purpose of this feat.
