You are capable of splitting your eldritch blast amongst any number of targets, up to a minimum of 1 die of damage. Beams must be directed at different targets. For example, a 3d6 eldritch blast can be two beams for 2d6 and 1d6, or three beams of 1d6. Essences apply as normal to all beams.
When you get Lesser invocations and use this blast shape, you gain an additional die of damage to your eldritch blast. You gain this again at Greater and Dark invocations, for a maximum at dark of 3 additional damage dice which you can split as normal.
