After casting this spell, you feel much safer about picking up that cursed sword. Just remember to put it down before the spell runs out.
You suppress, rather than remove, a curse currently in effect on the creature. Alternatively you suppressed the cursed functions of a cursed item, and prevent an intelligent item from engaging in an Ego battle for the duration (often to the annoyance of the item). Suppress curse does not actually remove the curse, and if the curse is still present at the end of the duration it will come back into effect. Nor is it immunity to curses, as you can be cursed with this spell on, fail the save, and not feel the effects until the spell duration is up. On the other hand, you get a +4 bonus on saves against curses while under this spell. Certain special curses may not be countered by this spell or may be countered only by a caster of a certain level higher; treat it as per remove curse.
