Evasion. If the swarm needs to make a Dexterity saving throw that a success would result in half damage, it takes no damage on a successful save and only half damage of a failed save.

Lifesense. The swarn can sense the life-force of living creatures and plants. Treat this as Truesight except when viewing constructs, undead, and necromancy spell effects (which are always treated as if in dim light).

Swarm. The swarm can occupy another creature's space and vice versa, and the swarm can move through any opening large enough for a Tiny creature (see description) to pass. The swarm can't regain hit points or gain temporary hit points magically or by spending hit dice.

Actions

Multiattack. The swarm can make 4 attacks with its force darts. If the swarm is below half hit points, it makes 2 attacks with its force darts.

Force Dart. Ranged Spell Attack: This attack always hits most targets; Range: 120 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4+1) force damage.

Against constructs or undead this attack has a chance to miss; the attack roll is at +7 to hit with disadvantage, with a range of only 60 ft.

Description

The tritail (\ ˈtrī-tāl \) is a humming-bird size bird. It appears as a tiny yellow swallow with a tri-forked tail. When they swarm, it is to protect their territory against a perceived threat.

Their most dangerous attack is a projection of their life-force (ki), manifesting as a force dart (similar to a single magic missile). Somewhat dangerous from a single tritail, but a swarm of them using this ability can be devastating.
