Sword of Justice

I will not let injustice prevail! I am the Sword of Justice, and I will make you pay!
—Harada Shufen, Human Sword of Justice

A Sword of Justice fights against injustice, both within and outside the framework of the law. They follow their own code and ideals over any predefined one. Some might feel the word of the laws is more important than anything else, all the while others might be fighting against unjust laws. One might see society as inherently worthwhile and to be preserved, while another may see the world as rotten and for that corruption to be rooted out. While their beliefs are varied, the Swords of Justice tends to be idealist and strong of spirit.

A Sword of Justice is skilled at arms, magical abilities and stealth. They act as guardian for society, observing from the shadow where no one will know to find them. Then they will strike at the unjusts, the criminals and the corrupts.

Class Features

All of the following are class features of the Sword of Justice.

Spellcasting: At 1st level and each odd levels thereafter, you gain new spells per day and an increase in caster level (and spells known, if applicable) as if you had also gained a level in a spellcasting class to which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If you had more than one spellcasting class before becoming a Sword of Justice, you must decide which class to add each level for the purpose of determining spells per day, caster level, and spells known.

At 2nd level and each even levels thereafter, you gain new spells per day and an increase in caster level (and spells known, if applicable) as if you had also gained a level in a partial spellcasting class (Bard, Paladin, Ranger, etc) to which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. The chosen class must be the same class as chosen with the spellcasting progression above. If you did not choose a partial spellcasting class for your spellcasting progression above you do not gain this spellcasting progression.

Detective (Ex): A Sword of Justice gain a +2 bonus on Gather Information checks for the sake of finding whereabouts about criminals and other wrongdoers and on Search checks made to find clues in a crime scene. This bonus improves by +2 at 4th level and 8th level.

Herald of Justice (Ex): A Sword of Justice remembers perfectly word for word any law or criminal code she studies for at least 8 hours. She gain a +4 bonus on Intimidate checks made when she recite the code of law of the appropriated area against a creature violating it or about to violate it.

Avenge Injustice (Ex): When a Sword of Justice of 2nd level is unobserved, if she witnesses what she would consider an act worthy of justice, she can declare the use of this ability as a swift action. She gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls and her DCs against the perpetrator and and the benefits Track feat for the purpose of tracking them. If multiple creatures committed the act she selects one of them as the target. A sword of justice can only have a single creature as the target of her Avenge Injustice at any given time. The bonus granted by Avenge Injustice increases by +1 at 5th and 10th level.

This bonus lasts for 24 hours, until she defeats or kills the target or until she gives up as a free action. If the sword of justice gives up she takes 1 daunt level which cannot be removed for 24 hours. The sneak attack granted by this ability stacks with other sources of sneak attack.

Armored Stealth (Ex): A 3rd level Sword of Justice ignores her class level in armor check penalty for the purpose of Hide and Move Silently. If the Sword of Justice wears light or no armor she can move at full speed while using the Move Silently skill at no penalty.

Relentless (Ex): A 5th level, a Sword of Justice become immune to the Fatigued condition and gain Diehard as a bonus feat. If she already possesses the feat or later takes it she can act while under 0 hit points without losing hit points for performing strenuous action.

Lasting Grudge (Ex): At 6th level the Sword of Justice’s Avenge Injustice class ability can be maintained against any number of creatures. The bonus also extends to up to 1 day per class level.

Hide in Plain Sight (Su): At 7th level, a Sword of Justice gains the Assassin's Hide in Plain Sight class feature.

Immeasurable Determination (Ex): A 9th level sword of justice can act as if she was Staggered when she is Dazed or Stunned, but take all the normal penalties of these conditions.

Variation

Non-Spellcasting Sword of Justice: Remove the spellcasting prerequisites, increase the BAB prerequisites to +5. Instead of gaining additional spellcasting level, the Sword of Justice instead gain d10 hit dice, and +1d6 Sneak Attack at 3rd, 6th and 9th level.
