Streamlining

"It only wastes time because people like you are actively trying to get the author to convert it to something it was never intended to be. The opening blurb let readers who do not like the goal of the article to get away before time is wasted. That is something I like in the new policies regarding variant rules. Instead of bitching about how you don't like it, here is an idea: Streamline the variant navigation page. I never understood why the variant page is the exception to the "include a short summery that will show on the navigation page" rule that predominates this wiki. And this vatriant is an excellent example of why one would be useful. I have accepted that this article will not be used by the people who posted on this discussion page, but I also recognize that I do not use a good 99.9% of the material on this wiki, along with the other users and visitors. Hell, some articles actually provide nothing to contribute to the game, but we aren't deleting the pun-puns just because they are there. Streamline the variant nav page, include yet another table showing variants and summeries. I have links to all of my material and am able and willing to track down every single variant I have written to help my proposed solution. It is logical, it will improve the wiki as a whole, and any action taken against it will show that this discussion page is attacking on the belief level, and I will just copy and paste this post to a new discussion page so that we can be rational."

So, logistics wise, here is the basic skinny: We change the variant preload and format of the variant nav page to amke both easier to use, utilizing the same system of summery we use on nearly every other article. At worst it will make navigation easier. Can we do this?--Change=Chaos. Period. SC 23:22, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

3.5e Variant Rules/table shall hopefully lead to a better solution. --Havvy 07:22, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Overflow Error

Supplimental Rules are getting cut off. Can we reformat this so that it auto-fits itself into rows like my User Page? -- Eiji-kun 01:07, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Overflow error killed. Also, see 3.5e Variant Rules/table for a more consistent navigation style. --Havvy 07:22, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Nix Supplemental/Transformational?

These two different categories are a bit of a paleowiki-ism. I don't think the overlap is different enough to justify having them both. Still, there's also no problem to continue having them both. Thoughts? Surgo 22:10, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

I was gonna make a similar suggestion. I've never understood why they existed. I'd favor nixing them, or at least getting something that actually makes sense on first glance. Supplemental and Transformational are both pretty big words. ;) --Havvy (talk) 06:11, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
