Effect Questions

Is the alignment baggage from forbiddance brought over too, and does it deal damage? Is there a save against the repulsion and sickened effects? What is the range of the repulsion effect, the 20' cube or the normal range of repulsion? Why make disjunction and wish ineffective against it in the long term? - Tarkisflux Talk 18:20, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

So I realized my range for the spell was ten kinds of WTF, since it didn't match either forbiddance or repulsion. It's now a 60 foot cube per level a la forbiddance, much larger and (in my opinion) more befitting of a level 9 spell.
Although heavily influenced by MisterSinister's opinion, disjunction is a really cheesy spell, so giving it a kick in the ass by not being able to dispel a cloister permanently doesn't particularly faze me. Ditto with wish, since it makes the defense rather useless when a single level 9 spell can bring it down. That said, I suppose the important thing is that it can't be dispelled while someone is alive in it, so I could be open to allowing them to get rid of it permanently when the cloister is normally dispel-able. I'll withhold any edits until I hear back from you on that particular bit. - TG Cid (talk) 16:26, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
Two years late, but I would like to have SOME way to remove it, even if its difficult. Wish would have been fine (because it's costly) but you would always make it harder (two wishes, a wish with a high enough CL, breaking some focus item hidden somewhere while suppressed, etc). -- Eiji-kun (talk) 03:01, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

Area Question

The spell states that it functions as Forbiddance, however Forbiddance has its Area parameter listed as "Medium" while this is listed as "Personal"

Is that intentional or a typo? I typically assume that any effect with a given radius but an Area of "Personal" means that the effect is produced with the caster at the center of it (Akin to the Fireburst spell). In this case I'm not sure how to handle this as the radius is one 60' Cube per Level.

Does the first cube have to be centered on the caster, with each subsequent cube building off of it into any direction(s) they choose? Mecheye (talk) 16:33, 25 November 2022 (UTC)
