Always wanted to see more real estate out there. A good, simple entry for a simple entry-level item.

Expensive!

I don't think most Commoners will ever have 90gp to rub together. This housing market is about to collapse. Surgo 19:18, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

We actually talked about this on chat. Commoners should be able to make 7 gp a week using Profession skill checks. Ignore the DMG guidelines, they are silly. So if a commoner makes that much, 90 gp is a pretty reasonable price (under 2 years at 1 gp saved a week). --Aarnott 19:22, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
And if they craft it themselves, it becomes 30 gp! -- Eiji-kun 19:47, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
Isn't the craft DC rather high for the general shoddy nature of wattle and daub construction with a thatched roof? Yes I imagine that peasants/commoners do help each other build these things, but it still seems high for a simple wood shack. A DC 20 is higher than a mighty composite longbow, it is the same as a complex mechanical lock, or a masterwork item,. Is it a masterwork shack? If not, wouldn't something lower be in order? According to the PHB a typical item has a DC of 10, what could be more typical than the ten million commoner's shacks dotted across a campaign world after all.
