For the most part makes armor redundant.

I was about to prepare a bit about how the math was right and questioning your numbers... then I saw that my "1/2" had gotten misplaced, ah. Anyway, numbers should be right now. The benefit (and there is one) isn't as extreme.

On a side note, tightened the numbers, +5 works better than +3 and its an easier number to handle. You'd start off (if you somehow had it at level 1) with AC 6... not bad. Also, remember, no special enhancements on this. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 02:12, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

If you want to keep it as it is, I would at least make it so that you can't add dex to AC when wearing this and that it counts as heavy armor for class abilities, as that way it evens out the bonus to what you get. As it is right now, for people who want AC and little/no actual armor, this makes armor completely redundant. Finally, people aren't going to be able to pick this up at level one, so... it might be a little hard to start off with it. Between all the bonuses, I think 1/2 level + 5 might be fine if you treated it as heavy armor and could add no dex bonus to AC, or if you don't have those, make it basically work like Bracers of Armor and have it at most at 1/2 level - 2 or somesuch. Regardless, you should note that you can't get an armor bonus to AC while wearing it... or even better, just actually *make* it an armor bonus to AC. --Ghostwheel (talk) 09:55, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Comments[edit]

Suppressed generally refers to temporarily non-functional magic items, so it's not clear that you don't benefit from a mundane armor bonus from the wording here. You may want to go with "absorbed" or "replaced" or something similar instead. - Tarkisflux Talk 02:30, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Gotcha, done. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 02:41, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
