Design Direction[edit]

Similar to my thoughts on the Fang of the Four Wings, I think that at the high level of balance this class either needs to do more or be less. With the aforementioned class I advocated condensing the abilities. In this case I think that is also possible (e.g. Least and Greater Ignition are poor stand-alone abilities for a level, even if you are getting some important base numbers), or you a) add maneuvers, or b) turn this into some sort of feat (chain?). In this case it would be a tactical feat of some sort working with Desert Wind (Burning Strike, Fast Movement when in DW stance, gain On Fire with multiple rounds in DW stance, shed stance to invoke Hotblood -- just to throw out some ideas) and granting access to a new subset of maneuvers (Flare Buster, Rocket Charge, Flamethrower) -- or have these be spontaneous initiated (limited per encounter usage remains) a la good clerics and heal spells.

Overall I like the imagery (you've gone for Captain Falcon, while my own like interpretations come principally from Armored Core 3) and some of the mechanics, but I find myself underwhelmed by the totality of the kit given how much investment it requires. -- Jota (talk) 14:24, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
