Pretty Weak, With Potential

While bursting with more flavor than a starburst, there's nothing in this class that's really good enough to justify the loss of 3 caster levels. Also Dazzling Blade stands out as being really bad -- dazzle is the worst status effect in the game, it pretty much does nothing and the ability takes a standard action to use and forces a save? For giving them a measly -1 to attacks? Maybe upgrade that to Dazed.

Other notes: total concealment is by definition 50% miss chance (not 15% as you have it listed). Improved Sharper Image is redundant: because the bonus damage isn't dice, it's already multiplied on a crit. Quick Summon: call it a swift action, that's the modern terminology for that sort of thing.

Special note for Refine Illusion II. This is actually kinda big; a +5 bonus to save DCs on illusions (which are some of the best spells in the game) is huge. Might even be worth the loss of a single caster level at this point. That said the ability is poorly defined; it should really just give a +5 inherent bonus and remove the other verbiage. As it's written, if you have any other effects that modify your save DCs, this will override them.

Interesting class otherwise, imo just needs some tightening up. Feels like a bit of a stretch to get it to 10 levels, might be better as a 5 level PrC. Surgo (talk) 19:07, 4 February 2017 (MST)
