You have summoned the Eiji, with the freshest of beats. He sees your article and thinks its neat. I rate 4/5, would do it again. I'm gonna eat your Lobsterman!

But singing aside, this looks solid. It's DR is huge, making it very difficult for the limited options of low level parties. While this seems difficult given the stated CR, I like to take the view this is not unlike a golem; a puzzle enemy where you need the right counter to their rock-paper-scissors. The d20M compatibility is nice. Are the plasma pistols items with stats or are they built into the lobster?

Looks fine, would use.

The Lobsterman's Guns

The Plasma Pistols used by the Lobsterman is actually from the D20 Future book on page 72. Now it's entirely up to the DM on whether or not the player can salvage one plasma pistol (or both). There's the option of the the guns are linked to that specific Lobsterman. Once said Lobsterman is dead, the weapon auto-destructs, preventing the players from salvaging the pistols. Another option is the players can't use them, but CAN sell them to the right person (like a gnomish engineer). If the DM wants to let the players use the weapons, the players need to take the feat Alien Weapons Proficiency (D20 Future, page 11), or take a -4 penalty on using the pistols. Problem is you need someone to train you...or the DM can decide after enough trail-and-error(or succeed) that the next time the player levels up, they can take the feat (you know, the old "School of Hard Knocks" method).

Weapon: Plasma Pistol Damage: 2d10 Crit: 20 Damage Type: Fire Range: 40 feet Rate of fire: Semiautomatic (shoot as many times as you have attacks) Ammo: 50 box (can be fired 50 times before power pack needs to be changed out) Size: Medium Weight 3 lb. Purchase DC: 17 Restriction: Lic (+2)

Now my friends and I came up for a formula of transferring Gold to Dollars. After comparing the prices of similar items we concluded that 1 Gold = 4.5 Dollars.

A DC 17 purchase check is about $900 (the License restriction raises it to $1,500). That would be about 200GP (or 333gp for restrictions). Again, it's up to the DM's discretion.

Also, for a more canon feel to it, just switch the damage type to "Sonic" and change the weapon's name to "Sonic Pistol," but other than that keep everything else the same.
