"Knowledge (religion) DC 50: Mephiles appears to be descended from the Slavic thunder god, Perun. Could he actually desire to unmake the world and undo the dominance — no, the very existence of the Catholic Church?"

What the previous commentators have said. Bad sonic fanfic does not a good elder evil make.

I suppose it's been ages since I've first seen it, but I should have done it before. Ignore the cringe factor of a background, or the ML 80 nonsense. It seems not to really understand the point of being an elder evil. You'll notice that you never really fight any of the elder evils; they don't have stats. They're forces of nature, concepts. Sometimes they have avatars, but that's as close as you get. This seems to imply people would be fighting Mephiles.

Actually I will touch on the background a bit. So, I could actually see it justified that something in Sonic 06 is an elder evil, but it's not Mephiles, it's Solaris. Let's ignore the fact that you fight Solaris, because videogames. It's more to the fact that the one time Solaris pops up active and awake he breaks time and space. All of his other incarnations: Mephiles and Iblis, are just small BBEGs and big scary monsters respectively. They are a mastermind and a tarrasque basically.

At the moment, this isn't very good outside of it's singular and very specific storyline that was made up of real religious, Slavs, pokemon, Sonic, Harry Potter, and whatever else there is. It can't be imported into any other game. At the least I could do Eberron, Faerun, or even Dead Sun and still run Atropos.

It's just not a very good article. It's old, but age doesn't excuse it.

Sorry man, I really just can't get behind an article that combines two real world religions with Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, Pokémon tangentially and potentially also Castlevania but I'm not sure. You know what? Yeah, if the real world stuff wasn't in there as poor taste, that would be fine, but mechanically, alone, 80th level manifester. No thanks. You can have this in a sandbox, but not in the main space.

Well, I have been considering toning it down to somewhere in the 40-60 range. --Luigifan18 (talk) 20:49, 13 December 2017 (MST)
