Power Concerns[edit]

I have a few concerns with some of the stuff this can do. I'm going to start by describing what this has.

•Full BAB

•Full initiating with a good recovery (although you can't change your maneuvers, you still get 9th level maneuvers)

•Partial manifesting with a limiter

•Unlimited power points

•An at-will scaling ranged damage option with a great save DC that dazes people, as an attack action

•Flurry of Blows

•Almost full Soulknife progression (for all that counts for)

•Bonus Feats from a huge list

Now, I think this can be saved as a concept, there will need to be some changes made, or this is just too much even at VH. Some thoughts and suggestions:

•Probably drop it to Medium BAB; I know this is intended to be a gish, but a lot of gish things are Medium.

•Limit the levels of the maneuvers you can learn, but allow them to be exchanged.

•Either drop the recovery of power points when ending the trance or drop the bonus power points from Int. I think the recovery of power points is a cool concept, so I'd say drop the power points from Int. They've got other stuff they can do, anyway. Maybe make it a little harder to get the points back, since it isn't something you can effectively use in combat anyway.

•Make Painwaves a standard action. The penalties should come at an earlier level than the dazing.

•This doesn't need Psychic Strike. It's got a bunch of other stuff.

•Consider a standard action flurry instead of a normal flurry. A standard action flurry is only a standard action, but you get one attack plus the number attacks you'd get from flurrying (1 at 1, 2 at 11) with the normal flurry penalties. You don't have the normal full attack flurry.

•Limit the bonus feat list if you're still going to give feats.

I know that's a lot of changes, but I'm pretty sure that would still leave it on the super high level of VH. It might still be too much after that, honestly. I hope this helps. --Undead_Knave (talk) 12:45, 28 August 2019 (MDT)
