Just a Better Rapier

Now, I'm not here to pooh-pooh anyone attempting to make something new and interesting - but the Saber presented here simply feels like it's a straight upgrade to a Rapier. A strictly better weapon in any situation for 5gp more. The only finesse weapon presented, as far as I know, is the Rapier, and light weapons cap out at 1d6 damage (Scimitar, Shortsword). Now, I'm not say that we shouldn't be pushing the envelope on design space, but to what mechanical purpose?

Obviously, the Saber presented here is just a better dual-weapon fighting weapon for a dex-based character that doesn't want to invest - or can't - in the Dual Wielder feat. I just wanted to understand if that was the intention? --TK-Squared (talk) 05:38, 14 March 2019 (MDT)
