: Sure--why not? It's not like mage types usually invest too much in dex, and +2 to +5 in damage isn't going to change the game too much. Ray spells that do damage aren't that powerful in general compared to other abilities that casters have, so I don't see the problem, though it wouldn't add to ability damage (just regular damage). So it would add dex to damage of a Scorching Ray, but not a Ray of Stupidity, for example. --[[User:Ghostwheel|Ghostwheel]] 23:29, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

::Great, those were essentially my thoughts as well I just wasn't sure if you intended this to be a feat for weapons only (like smart shooter) or more general purpose. I agree that the Dex modifier should not be added to any spell variable except hitpoint damage.  This feat all in one bundle effectively makes it practical for casters to support their party members in melee, without having to sculpt area spells and all that.  After all what wizard wants to accidentally hit the soft cover (his friend Thud the Barbarian) with his disintegrate... ;)  Also thank you for getting back to me so fast on this! Ranged Touch Attacks

Quick question, the wording of this feat leaves me wondering, do it's effects apply to ranged touch attacks? Such as ray spells and whatnot. More specifically would it grant a damage dealing ranged touch attack, your dex bonus in damage? Tunganation 18:48, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
