A short and brutish [[SRD:Shortspear|shortspear]] with a rather thick pole and a large blade more akin to a shortsword. The blade is sharpened and often serrated, allowing it to slash and cut flesh in addition to piercing with it. Unlike an actual short spear it is too unwieldy to throw. Like a [[SRD:Lance|lance]] a thick spear deals double damage when used from the back of a charging mount.

A thick spear count as a [[SRD:Shortspear|shortspear]] for the purpose of interacting with abilities and feats but do not share a proficiency.
